I have received a Gromit Unleashed figurine that differs in weight to another one I own. Why is this?
Our Gromit Unleashed figurines have always been produced by two different manufacturers due to the continuing high demand for figurines. The factories each use unique production processes. One factory uses a centrifugal method, and the other factory uses a moulding method – there is no difference in quality, but weights of individual figurines may vary.
Why does The Grand Appeal sell figurines on eBay?
We have taken the decision to sell a very limited number of figurines on eBay, with the advice and support of eBay UK, to deter the secondary market in figurines that sprung up in 2013. We are not motivated by a desire to increase income, but rather to undermine those personal sellers who repeatedly seek to make personal profit from the sale of the charity item. We continue to monitor sales online, in-store and on eBay in order to increase in every way possible the income generated for sick babies and children at Bristol Children's Hospital.
